WIRE WRAPPING A BEAD WITH THE PROFESSIONAL DELUXE GIZMO

Wrapping beads or stones with wire adds beauty to one’s designs. It also solves the problem of how one will trap these elusive elements so that they can be part of a piece of jewelry. The Gizmo gives you a new twist for being able to wrap wire very quickly.

STEP 1—Cut a piece of 16 gauge wire about four inches long. Insert the wire into the chuck. Slip the bead or the stone that you want to wrap onto the wire. Take a 20 gauge wire and make a right angle bend on the wire and slip it into one of the spaces between the jaws of the chuck. (Fig B-1)
STEP 2—Start cranking and coil about six coils. You will notice that there is a gap in the coils. Take the bead and use it to push the coils toward the chuck. The gap should close for you. (Fig B-2)

STEP 3—Now comes the tricky part. Continue cranking and lay the wire over the bead. You have to use your fingers to shape the wire around the bead. If you don’t do this, you will get another coil on the right side of the bead. See Figure B-3.
STEP 4—The next step is to make some coils at the left side of the bead. (Figure B-4) Notice that there are gaps in the coil.

Here in Figure B-5, you can see the use of a chain nose plier to push the coil toward the chuck to take out the gap.
STEP 5—Cut the wire as you see in Figure B-6. Loosen the chuck and remove the wrapped bead. Cut the wire tail on the right end of the bead and use your chain nose pliers to shape the part of the wire that you just cut around the mother wire.

STEP 6—We are now going to make eyes on each end of the bead. Make a right angle bend as you see in Figure B-7.RE

Keep turning the pliers counter clockwise until you have formed the eye. (Figure B-9) Make an eye on the other end of the bead.E
